Namibia’s President, HAGE GEINGOB has banned government officials from buying new cars till 2025 over the rapid increase in corona virus pandemic that has affected the Economy.

President GEINGOB, who announced the ban via his Twitter handle, said the decision was inspired by the “difficult period of COVID-19.”

The President also directed a cap on monthly fuel consumption by public office holders.

The country has so far recorded 16 cases of the corona virus.
