The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in Ogun State has warned impostors and individuals allegedly spreading confusion to steer clear of the party, insisting that TPL Rotimi Babajide remains its officially recognised governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
The state chairman of the party, Comrade Abayomi Sanyaolu, gave the warning in a press statement made available to journalists in Abeokuta on Monday, stressing that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had officially listed Babajide as the party’s candidate.
Sanyaolu urged party members, supporters and the Ogun electorate to disregard any contrary claims regarding the party’s governorship ticket, describing such assertions as misleading.
“INEC has released the final list of candidates, and TPL Rotimi Babajide has been officially announced and confirmed by INEC as the governorship candidate of APM in Ogun State. Please disregard any contrary insinuation from any quarter,” he said.
The APM chairman assured supporters that there was no controversy over the party’s candidate, calling on eligible voters across the state to rally behind the party ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
“I am therefore using this medium to assure Ogun State electorates and our teeming supporters that there is no controversy about our governorship candidate. Feel free to support APM and vote in TPL Rotimi Babajide as the next governor of Ogun State,” Sanyaolu declared.
He reiterated the party’s position that Babajide is its candidate for the forthcoming election, warning those seeking to mislead party members and the public to desist from actions capable of creating confusion within its ranks.
