2027: Kaduna group targets 1.2m votes for Tinubu, Sani.

The Coordinator of the Aminiya Movement for Uba Sani/Tinubu, Abdulmumini Aminu-Zaria, says the group is targeting 1.2 million votes for Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani and President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Aminu-Zaria stated this at a media engagement in Kaduna on Sunday, where he urged voters to give the two All Progressives Congress leaders a second term, citing what he described as their achievements in security, education, agriculture and infrastructure.

He said the movement was committed to galvanising support for both leaders, arguing that they deserved another mandate to complete ongoing projects and consolidate their policies.

“The sole purpose is to galvanise support and get 1.2 million votes for the two of them,” he said.

Explaining why Sani deserved re-election, he said the governor had improved security through dialogue with community leaders and efforts to address the grievances fuelling farmer-herder clashes and communal tensions.

“I am not saying that the security situation in Kaduna State is 100 per cent gone, but I know that it has been suppressed to a large extent. Before we start to talk about development, we have to go in search of peace”, he said.

On education, Aminu-Zaria said the Sani administration had reduced tuition fees in state-owned tertiary institutions by half, supported indigent students sitting external examinations and improved school infrastructure.

He also credited the government’s school-feeding programme with encouraging more children to return to school, although he did not provide data to substantiate the claim.

On agriculture, he praised the distribution of free fertiliser and tractors to farmers, alongside investments in rural roads to improve access to farms and markets.

Aminu-Zaria said the governor had embarked on about 150 road projects covering approximately 1,450 kilometres across Kaduna State, adding that the administration had given greater attention to rural communities.

He also attributed some of the state’s development projects to the working relationship between Sani and Tinubu, saying Federal Government support had helped the governor pursue major infrastructure initiatives.

“Most of these gigantic projects that are only found in the South, particularly in Lagos, are in Kaduna State simply because of the support of the President,” he said.

Defending Tinubu’s economic reforms amid widespread hardship, Aminu-Zaria argued that difficult policies might be necessary to achieve long-term economic stability.

He also opposed calls for the North to take over the presidency in 2027, insisting that the principle of rotational power should be respected.

“Tinubu is on board. He is from the South because we rotate. So it is only natural for him to spend his eight years, after which a Northerner can bid for it,” he said.

On the APC’s electoral chances in Kaduna, the coordinator expressed confidence that Sani would win a second term, citing improved relations between the state government and Southern Kaduna communities.

He said the administration’s engagement with Christian and Muslim communities had helped strengthen peaceful coexistence across the state.

Aminu-Zaria urged voters to support the APC in 2027, warning that a change of government could affect the continuity of ongoing projects.

“You cannot be sure that if anybody comes in, the projects Uba Sani started, he will complete them. I don’t think we have any reason not to give the APC a second chance”, he concluded.
