The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commenced nationwide Federal Roads Project Tour in Kaduna State.

NANS said the tour was aimed at assessing federal road projects leading to tertiary institutions across Nigeria. 

A statement by the President, NANS, Comr. Akinteye Babatunde Afeez said the tour commenced at the Federal Co-operative College, Kaduna, along the Kaduna-Abuja Road, where the ongoing Federal Government road construction project was inspected. 

According to him, the Kaduna-Abuja Federal Government road project runs directly through the Federal Co-operative College, Kaduna, providing a major access route used daily by students.

Akinteye Babatunde Afeez he  arrived at Kano State in continuation of the ongoing Nationwide Federal Roads Project Tour. Stating their first point of contact was the Kaduna-Kano Road, which passes through the Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education. 

He said during the inspection, they examined the quality of the road and its impact on the movement of students within and around the institution. Clearly, the improved road infrastructure has made commuting easier for students.

As part of the tour, Akinteye Babatunde Afeez engaged the students of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education and the leadership of the Students’ Union on the importance of political consciousness and infrastructural development. 

He said as students, they are directly affected by government policies and must remain actively involved in policy formulation and government projects, especially those that affect them.

In the same vein, the leadership of NANS engaged the management of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education on matters concerning the well-being of  students. Comr. Akinteye Babatunde Afeez commended Dr. Kabiru Ahmed Gwarzo as a commendable and student-friendly Provost committed to the welfare of students.
