JAMB Debunks Viral 394 UTME Score Attributed to Cross River Candidate

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has dismissed as fake a viral result slip claiming that a candidate from Cross River State scored 394 in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The result, which circulated widely on social media, was shared by an X user, @Onsogbu, who alleged that one Okon Winniefred Sampson achieved the near-perfect score, including 96 in Use of English, 99 in Biology, 98 in Chemistry, and 99 in Physics.

Reacting, JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement on Sunday, described the claim as entirely false and urged the public to disregard it.

He noted that the Board does not issue UTME results in formats designed for printing or sharing, stressing that all results are currently view-only.

According to him, the viral document clearly originated from a fabricated template, making it easy to identify as inauthentic.

Benjamin also pointed out that the registration number displayed on the slip does not align with JAMB’s system-generated format, highlighting further inconsistencies that undermine its credibility.

He advised Nigerians to rely solely on official JAMB communication channels for accurate information, reiterating that all UTME results remain accessible only through the Board’s approved platforms.

The Board warned that the public should ignore the fake result, describing its circulation as misleading and unnecessary.
