Olisa-in-Council Affirms Legitimacy of Odukoya’s Installation as Olurasonwa

The Olisa-in-Council of Rasonwa has moved to decisively settle lingering disputes over the traditional stool, affirming the lawful installation of Prince Omololu Adewale Odukoya as the Olurasonwa.

In what appears to be a strategic effort to restore stability and public confidence, the Council, led by Olisa Adeoye Adesanya, stated that the entire selection and installation process strictly adhered to established chieftaincy laws and customs in Ijebuland.

According to the Council, all requisite traditional rites, consultations, and approvals were duly completed, reinforcing the legitimacy of Odukoya’s emergence. It emphasized that the process was not only procedurally sound but also reflective of the collective will of the kingmakers and the Rasonwa community.

Addressing claims of irregularities, the Council dismissed such assertions as baseless, describing them as misinformation capable of undermining communal harmony. It maintained that recognized authorities and key stakeholders were fully involved at every stage of the process, ensuring transparency and compliance with long-standing succession practices.

The endorsement signals a unified stance by traditional leadership aimed at consolidating authority and preventing further contention over the stool.

The Council also issued a call to action for indigenes of Rasonwa, both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, to rally behind the newly installed monarch and support his leadership.

Reaffirming its position as custodian of tradition, the Council stressed the need for collective alignment in the interest of peace, unity, and sustainable development within the community.
