Adeola Rallies Ogun West APC for Unity, Moves to Consolidate Support Ahead of 2027 Governorship

Senator Solomon Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus governorship candidate in Ogun State, has intensified efforts to solidify party unity in Ogun West, urging stakeholders to close ranks as preparations gather momentum for the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting held in Ilaro, Adeola positioned unity as the party’s critical success factor, emphasizing that internal cohesion would determine APC’s ability to retain power in the state. The meeting, which brought together key political actors across Ogun West, served as a strategic platform to align interests and reinforce party discipline following the consensus arrangement.

Adeola assured party members that his candidacy would be inclusive, noting that all factions and interest groups within the APC would be adequately carried along in both the campaign structure and eventual governance framework.

“There is no winner or loser in this process. Our collective objective is the victory of the APC, and that requires total unity,” he stated, in a clear message aimed at consolidating post-consensus buy-in.

In a move to ease potential internal tensions, the senator commended fellow aspirants, including Gboyega Isiaka and Abiodun Akinlade, for their maturity and sportsmanship, describing their conduct as instrumental to achieving a rancour-free emergence. He also acknowledged the roles played by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun, and party leader Olusegun Osoba in facilitating the consensus outcome.

Adeola further credited party stakeholders such as Kola Bajomo and Akin Odunsi for initiating dialogue among aspirants prior to the final decision, describing the process as a model of internal conflict resolution.

Projecting a broader political strategy, Adeola disclosed plans to engage stakeholders across Ogun Central and Ogun East senatorial districts to expand support and strengthen APC’s statewide electoral positioning ahead of 2027.

Reinforcing the unity narrative, Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Ishiaq Salako, described the meeting as a critical intervention to harmonize party interests, while other leaders including Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele, former Deputy Governor Salmot Badru, and former Minister Iyabo Anisulowo expressed strong confidence in Adeola’s candidacy.

Also lending their voices, Isiaka and Akinlade reaffirmed their commitment to the party’s success, signaling a unified front within Ogun West and boosting APC’s early campaign stability.

Stakeholders at the meeting expressed optimism that Ogun West is well-positioned to produce the next governor, a sentiment that underscores the region’s growing political momentum within the APC structure.

The engagement concluded with a closed-door meeting between Adeola and traditional rulers, further demonstrating a layered strategy that blends political consolidation with grassroots and institutional outreach.

With this move, Adeola appears to be front-loading unity and inclusiveness as core pillars of his campaign, a strategy that could significantly reduce internal friction and strengthen APC’s competitive edge heading into the 2027 governorship election.
