Hon. Naheem Balogun Declares 2027 Lagos Governorship Bid under ADC

Hon. Naheem Balogun, widely known as “Imòlę Dee,” has officially announced his intention to contest the 2027 Lagos State governorship election under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform.

Balogun, a former PDP House of Representatives candidate who recently returned to the ADC, made the declaration at a ceremony at De-Echo Event Centre in Egbeda, Lagos, attended by party supporters from Alimosho and surrounding areas.

Addressing party members, Balogun emphasized the urgent need for leadership change in Lagos, citing years of economic challenges and hardships faced by citizens. He urged Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing it as a vital tool for democratic participation and national renewal.

“The 2023 election sent a clear message. We cannot continue like this. As we approach 2027, Nigerians must get their PVCs and use them to change the fortunes of our dear country,” he said.

Balogun highlighted ADC’s openness to strategic collaborations and its commitment to inclusive governance, welcoming like-minded individuals from other political parties who share its vision for development and good governance.

At the event, ADC Alimosho Chairman Hon. Wesley Odeyemi pledged full support for Balogun’s campaign, promising voter mobilization across the state. Other aspirants, including House of Representatives candidate Hon. Dapo Igbasan and Lagos State House of Assembly candidate Hon. Gideon Adeniran, urged unity and steadfastness among party members, emphasizing collective commitment as key to electoral success.

Balogun, who previously launched a similar campaign in his hometown of Epe, underscored that his global exposure and experience in governance have strengthened his capacity to address Lagos State’s challenges and deliver practical, people-centered solutions.

The ADC now positions itself as a credible alternative in Lagos politics, with Balogun aiming to leverage experience, integrity, and unity to redefine leadership in the state.
