Dapo Abiodun to Swear In New Permanent Secretaries, Principals-General Wednesday


The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, will on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, conduct the swearing-in ceremony for newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, Statistician-General, Principals-General, and Headteachers-General in the Ogun State Public Service.

The ceremony is scheduled to hold at the Obas’ Complex, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, by 11:00am.

In a statement issued by the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, it was disclosed that a total of 16 senior officials will be sworn in, comprising nine Permanent Secretaries, one Statistician-General, two Principals-General, and four Headteachers-General.

According to the statement, the appointments are part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership capacity and enhance service delivery across key sectors of the public service.

Those to be sworn in as Permanent Secretaries are:
Mr. Abdul-Azeez Oludare Ajidele, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Yetunde Soyoye-Baker, Mrs. Adebimpe Foluso Obienu, Dr. (Mrs.) Kafayat Modupe Lawal, Mr. Ahmed Bayo Adetona, Mr. Idowu Oladapo Onasanya, Mr. Olalekan Peter Taiwo, Mr. Akintomiwa Oluwagbeminiyi Osibodu, and Engr. Kehinde Olukayode Akintomide.

The newly appointed Statistician-General is Mrs. Omolara Adebukola Adebayo.

For the education sector, Mr. Matthew Adeyinka Osilesi (Remo Division) and Mr. Yakubu Olorunyomi Lamidi (Ijebu Division) will be sworn in as Principals-General, while Mr. Benjamin Olusegun Alonge (Ijebu Division), Mrs. Aminat Folake Busari (Remo Division), Mr. Olusegun Nathaniel Akapo (Yewa Division), and Mrs. Folake Omolara Onabanjo (Egba Division) will assume duties as Headteachers-General.

Mr. Onasanya added that members of the State Executive Council, the new appointees, and invited guests are expected to be seated at the venue by 10:30am ahead of the ceremony.

The swearing-in is expected to formally usher the new officials into office as the Abiodun administration continues to reposition the Ogun State Public Service for improved efficiency and effective governance.
