The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released deployment details for 2026 Batch A Stream I prospective corps members, confirming that call-up letters are now available for collection.
The scheme made the announcement on Monday via its official X handle, disclosing that some prospective corps members posted to Lagos State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will undergo their orientation programmes in neighbouring states due to capacity constraints.
According to the NYSC, corps members deployed to Lagos State will attend orientation camps in Ekiti, Kwara, Ondo, Ogun and Osun states, while those posted to the FCT will have their orientation in camps located in Kaduna, Niger and Nasarawa states.
The development follows earlier explanations by the scheme that limited camp facilities can only accommodate about 40 per cent of registered prospective corps members for the upcoming orientation exercise.
The NYSC also issued a travel advisory, cautioning prospective corps members against night journeys to orientation camps. It urged them to complete all required documentation before departure, stressing that all mandatory forms must be printed and duly signed ahead of registration at the camps.
In a separate notice, the scheme warned that prospective corps members with discrepancies in their records would not be registered. It stated that those whose call-up letters do not align with the dates of graduation on their statements of results would be denied registration, advising affected individuals to resolve such issues with their institutions’ Student Affairs Officers before reporting.
Special guidelines were also issued for married female prospective corps members. The NYSC directed those not posted to their husbands’ states of domicile to report to the nearest orientation camp for registration. Those seeking concessional posting on marital grounds were advised to present a valid marriage certificate, proof of the husband’s identity and a letter confirming the husband’s place of domicile.
The scheme reiterated that it would enforce strict discipline throughout the exercise, adding that the 2026 Batch A orientation course is scheduled to commence nationwide on January 21.
