Ogun Launches AI-Powered Learning Platform to Transform Classroom Teaching

The Ogun State Government has taken a decisive step toward digitising public education with the formal launch of a new Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MOEST) website and an Artificial Intelligence–enabled Learning Management System designed to modernise teaching and learning across the state.

The new website, accessible via moest.ogunstate.gov.ng, was unveiled on Thursday alongside the AI-powered Ogun Learning Enhancement and Academic Resource Network (OgunLEARN), a state-backed digital platform that provides curriculum-aligned digital lesson notes and classroom management tools for teachers.

Speaking at the launch, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, described the initiative as a strategic move to improve efficiency, transparency, and learning outcomes in the education sector.

According to him, the redesigned MOEST website will serve as a central information hub, giving the public easier access to ministry initiatives, programmes, projects, and progress reports, while also hosting key digital tools deployed by the ministry.

Beyond transparency, Arigbabu said the introduction of OgunLEARN marks a major shift in how teaching is supported in public schools. The AI-powered platform allows teachers to access ready-made, curriculum-aligned lesson notes for all subjects, classes, and terms, create quizzes, assign tasks, and receive real-time feedback on students’ performance.

He noted that the digital lesson notes would significantly reduce the burden of manual lesson preparation for teachers, while the embedded analytics would provide timely insights into learners’ progress.

“The AI-powered digital lesson notes will remove the burden of manual lesson-note preparation, provide timely data on how learners are doing, and give our amazing teachers more time and insight to better support and plan for every child in their class,” Arigbabu said.

The Commissioner explained that the new website, OgunLEARN, and the Digital Performance Evaluation and Reporting system (DiPER) are interconnected tools aimed at building a more data-driven, responsive, and learner-focused education system.

“These tools are part of one story: a Ministry that is becoming more open, more data-driven, and more focused on practical support for teaching and learning,” he added.

Arigbabu urged education stakeholders to actively engage with the new platforms as they are rolled out to schools across the state in the coming days, stressing that their effective use would accelerate Ogun State’s transition to a digital-first education system.

Also speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Oluwatosin Oloko, commended the Commissioner’s leadership and innovation, describing OgunLEARN as a productivity-enhancing tool designed to give teachers back valuable time.

She said the platform would streamline routine tasks, improve efficiency, and allow teachers to focus more on instruction and learner engagement.

With the launch of OgunLEARN and the new MOEST website, Ogun State positions itself as one of the front-runners in leveraging artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure to strengthen public education delivery in Nigeria.
