The Ogun State Government has issued a stern warning to the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), urging its members to refrain from actions that could disrupt the peace in the state. This statement follows reports of plans by some NURTW members in Ijebu Ode to challenge the established leadership through protests.

Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Gbenga Dairo, emphasized that the government will not tolerate any threats to public order and may impose restrictions on union activities if necessary. He highlighted the obligation of NURTW members to conduct their affairs in accordance with Nigerian law and to seek resolution through proper channels within the union.

The government reminded NURTW members that parks and garages are public assets meant for the community’s safe use and warned that any disturbances could lead to immediate governmental action to maintain public safety and security.
