The Ogun state Police Command have arrested a suspected kidnapper IBRAHEEM ABUBAKAR who is a member of 7-man gang terrorizing the Kara Bridge end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway recently.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, ABIMBOLA OYEYEMI, in a statement, added that a 62-year-old victim SHEU ANAFI was also rescued by the Police.

The arrest, followed a report lodged at Warewa divisional headquarters by a commercial driver who said that he was attacked by gunmen while driving on an untarred road to avoid traffic on the long bridge. The driver noted that some gunmen attacked his bus, which forced his passengers to escape in different directions, with the victim abducted by the gunmen.

Following the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Warewa division, ABDUL FATAI OGUNSANYA, led a joint operation comprising the Police tactical teams, local Vigilantes, men of the So-Safe Corps to search for the abducted man.

The Police added that the other kidnappers escaped with different degrees of gunshot injuries, and asked members of the public to report persons who report at hospitals with bullet wounds and injuries.
