The National Industrial Court has adjourned the suit filed by the Federal Government against the Academic Staff Union of Universities till Friday, September 16.

In the suit, the Federal Government is seeking a court order to mandate the striking university lecturers to call off their strike and resume work. The lecturers have been on strike since February 14.

After the court hearing, the lawyer representing the government TIJJANI GAZALI insisted that ASUU cannot dictate to the government what channel to be used for of their wages.

On his part, the lawyer of ASUU in the case FEMI FALANA said the suit filed by the government was unnecessary in the first place as the union had always covered up for the time spent out of school during their previous strikes.
