The Nigeria Tobacco Control Alliance has urged the Federal Government to immediately operationalize the tobacco control fund to protect Public Health from the destructive effects of Tobacco in Nigeria.

The group made the comment in Abuja, during a press briefing, where the Chairman of the Nigeria Tobacco Control Alliance, AKINBODE OLUWAFEMI and some programme officers, CHIBINKEM NWOKORIE and SOLOMON ADOGA, said Nigeria has lost huge funds to the lack of monitoring of the tobacco industry players.                           

They also reminded the federal government of its pledge to reduce the effect of Tobacco consumption on its people, in a world health organization summit.
