Ondo State Governor Says FG Is Deliberately Refusing To Strengthen Security

Ondo State Governor, ROTIMI AKEREDOLU, has accused the Federal Government for deliberately refusing to strengthen the security of the 36 states of the Federation.

Governor AKEREDOLU said this in a statement, in reaction to the recent award of contracts by the Federal Government to some private security outfits to protect oil pipelines from being vandalized.

The Ondo state governor alleged that the Federal Government has abandoning states concerning the security of lives and property of the people, but is going ahead to empower some private security outfits in the country.

Governor AKEREDOLU, further alleged that the Federal Government is permitting private security outfits to bear heavy assault weapons while denying the same privilege to the states.

He also lamented the contract awarding despite the fact that the federal government has opposed moves by states to establish security outfits.
