The Minister of Finance, ZAINAB AHMED, says that the federal government is projected to spend 18.39 billion naira on petrol subsidy per day in the year 2023.

The Finance Minister stated this during an investigative hearing of the House ad hoc committee which is investigating the petroleum subsidy regime from 2013 to 2021.

ZAINAB AHMED said the figures was calculated using the information provided by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company.
