The Nigeria Labour Congress yesterday commenced a 2-day protest across the country, over the prolonged strike by university workers.

The protest by the NLC took place in virtually all the 36 states of the federation, with the Federal Capital Territory to also join the protest today.

President of the NLC AYUBA WABBA said the protest by the NLC is an effort to finally bring an end to the matter of the strike by university workers.

In Ogun state, the major university unions joined other NLC member unions in the protest, which took place in Abeokuta, the state capital.

NLC Ogun state chairman EMMANUEL BANKOLE in a statement said the protest is about taking back the country.
