Ogun State Government Promises To Implement Agreement Reached With Organised Labour In Calling Off Indefinite Strike

Ogun state government has promised to implement the agreement reached  with organized labour on July 1 to call off the indefinite strike which started on June 28.

Some of the key details in the agreement reached between both sides include the setting up of an ad-hoc committee to make recommendations on the Contributory Pension scheme; the allocation of 1.5 billion naira to clear off 21 months unremitted deductions in 30 days, with the balance spread across 6 months; the upward review of the release of 500 million naira for payment of gratuity, among others.

The Ogun state commissioner for Information, WAHEED ODUSILE, while featuring on Super FM Current affairs program State of the Nation over the weekend, said there is commitment on the side of government to meet the demands raised by the labour unions.

The Commissioner also gave assurances that the agreement will be fulfilled to the letter, as there will be regular meetings between the government and organized labour to that effect.
