OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT PROMISES TO IMPLEMENT AGREEMENT REACHED WITH ORGNIZED LABOUR IN CALLING OFF INDEFINITE STIKE.


The Ogun state government has promised to implement the agreement reached     with organized labour on July 1 to call off the indefinite strike which started on June 28.


Some of the key details in the agreement reached between both sides include the setting up of an ad-hoc committee to make recommendations on the Contributory Pension scheme; the allocation of 1.5 billion naira to clear off 21 months unremitted deductions in 30 days, with the balance spread across 6 months; the upward review of the release of 500 million naira for payment of gratuity, among others.


The Ogun state commissioner for Information, WAHEED ODUSILE, while featuring on Super FM Current affairs program State of the Nation over the weekend, said there is commitment on the side of government to meet the demands raised by the labour unions.


WAHEED ODUSILE while touching on the spate of cult clashes in the state; restated that the state government has zero tolerance for crime and cultism, while urging parents to do more in discouraging their children from engaging in acts of cultism.
