The dean of the Borno Elders Forum, Professor KHALIFA DIKWA has described Nigerian youths as people of great intelligence who have the capacity to build  Nigeria’s democracy.

Professor DIKWA who made the statement on a monitored television programme asked stakeholders on Nigeria’s political fronts to allow women and youths more participation in governance.

Professor DIKWA stressed that women and youths constitute the majority of the electorate, and should not be denied the opportunity to express their intelligence and capabilities in the interest of the nation. 

The university don has said consensus candidacy is possible if politicians from the same region respect the position of their traditional rulers and unify themselves.

Professor KHALIFA DIKWA said politicians should meet  and reach resolutions to avoid the 1992  scenario where the then military government of General IBRAHIM BABANGIDA banned some politicians from contesting in the 1993 general elections.
