Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority Says Nigeria May Experience Dearth In The Aviation Sector

The Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Captain MUDA NUHU has disclosed that Airline operators cannot operate safely with a fifty-thousand-naira base for airfares.

He made this disclosure at a meeting with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, AHMED WASE, over the scarcity and high cost of aviation fuel in the country.

Meanwhile, airline operators have revealed that their industry cannot survive the current price of aviation fuel, which is already threatening their operations.

In the meantime, Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, MELE KYARI, has assured Nigerians that the company will work with relevant authorities to ensure that the present crisis in the aviation sector is resolved.

KYARI gave the assurance while addressing the leadership of the House of Representatives, who were investigating the sudden scarcity and high cost of aviation fuel.
