The House of Representatives say that it is set to amend the provision of Direct Primaries in the Electoral Act Amendment Bill, during plenary today.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, FEMI GBAJABIAMILA disclosed this in his welcome remarks to members of the House yesterday.

The speaker stressed the importance of direct primaries which he says was the only way the people could have a say in influencing the choice of candidates produced by political parties.

FEMI GBAJABIAMILA also expressed disappointment that the failure of political parties to maintain a register has led to the general criticism of the clause of direct primaries.
