The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and civil society organizations have called on President MUHAMMADU BUHARI to expedite his assent of the Electoral Act Amendment Bill.

INEC National Commissioner and Chairman Voter Education Committee, FESTUS OKOYE while speaking in an election town hall said the quick assent of the bill will help improve the preparations of the commission for the elections in Ekiti and Osun states next year.

The Executive Director of Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre, CLEMENT NWANKWO, urged the President to use the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting to sign the bill for the overall benefit of Nigerians.
