Lagos Panel Reveals That Army Killed Unarmed, Defenseless Protesters At Lekki Toll Gate During The #Endsars Protest

The Lagos State Judicial Panel on Police Brutality has concluded that the Nigerian Army shot and killed unarmed protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020.

The report of the Panel which was submitted to Governor BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU at the Government House in Ikeja, said that the manner of assault and killing could in context be described as a massacre.

The Panel also found that the conduct of the Nigerian Army was exacerbated by its refusal to allow ambulances render medical assistance to victims who required such assistance.

The disclosure contradicts the consistent claim by Minister of Information LAI MOHAMMED, who has insisted that there was no shooting or killing at the tollgate.

According to the report of the Justice DORIS OKUWOBI-led panel on the incident, at least 48 protesters were either shot dead, injured with bullet wounds or assaulted by soldiers.
