Zamfara State Governor, BELLO MATAWALLE says negotiating with bandits is not a sign of failure.

MATAWALLE disclosed this at the Government House in Gusau while receiving three notorious bandits who surrendered their weapons and embraced his administration’s peace deal.

The Governor said he believes the only way to put a stop to the current insecurity in the state is to dialogue with the bandits, and described as unfortunate the thinking of some politicians who regard the peace initiative as a failure.

The repentant bandits, after giving up their AK-47 rifles and other ammunition, swore with the Qur’an not to carry out banditry activities again.
