The Nigerian Referees Association, NRA says the innovation of Video Assistant Referee VAR will soon be used in the country’s domestic leagues, as referees are now being trained to best international standards.
The NRA Publicity Secretary KELECHI MEJUOBI, disclosed this exclusively to Super FM News on the sidelines of the ongoing pre-season fitness test for referees of the Nigerian National League and the Nationwide League One at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode.
MEJUOBI, said plans are underway to procure the necessary materials and equipment’s, while the referees are already being trained on modern changes to the game in line with CAF and FIFA standards.
The Ogun state referees council chairman, BOSUN OBAYOMI, who also spoke with Super FM News, said with the quality of training the referees are currently receiving, the level of officiating in the domestic leagues will improve drastically.
