Tokyo's governor, YURIKO KOIKE, has said that the Olympics must happen next year as a symbol of world unity in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

The 2020 Olympics were slated to take place in July but plans were changed due to the pandemic.

The governor didn't divulge any details on a deadline to decide whether the Games could go ahead.
