Governors in the southeast region have met at the Enugu State Government House, in Enugu State.

The meeting was set up to fast track the setting up of a the Ebube Agu joint regional security outfit to tackle the worsening insecurity in the region.

The Ebonyi state governor and chairman of the South-East governors Forum DAVE UMAHI, while reading the communique said the meeting agreed on the structure and operational modalities of the joint security outfit. 

Governor UMAHI added that attorney generals in the five states of the region have been directed to give legal backing to the outfit with the existing laws in their respective states.
