South Africa’s former President JACOB ZUMA has been sentenced to 15 months in jail for contempt of court following his refusal to appear before an inquiry.
A judge at the Constitutional Court, Justice SISI KHAMPEPE said that the sentencing of the former President would send a clear message that the rule of law and the administration of justice prevails.
She also ordered that JACOB ZUMA hand himself over within the space of 5 days.
79-year-old JACOB ZUMA is accused of enabling corruption during his nine-year stay in office.
