Sierra Leone president, JULIUS MAADA BIO has confirmed the country’s first case of COVID-19.

This is coming after Sierra Leone announced the closure of its borders for a 30-day period following the declaration of a state of public health emergency by the President.

The country becomes the 48th African country to record a case as well as the last in West Africa to do so.
