The Russian Defence Ministry has said a military plane carrying medical equipment has departed for the United States. 

The statement said that the aircraft with medical masks and medical equipment onboard, left for the US overnight, without providing further details.

Russia has previously sent medical supplies and experts to corona virus-hit Italy as part of humanitarian efforts.
