The House of Representatives has mandated its Committee on Tertiary Institution and Services to investigate the high acceptance fees charged by Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria and report back within four weeks for further legislative action.
The House says it is worried that the high acceptance fees charged by some public universities on new students across the country have become a matter of great concern to many families.
The lawmakers are also concerned that the consequences of very high acceptance fees in Public Universities have led to many poor students losing their admission.
