President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has virtually commissioned the new Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) complex in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The office complex was started by the defunct Oil Minerals Producing Areas Development Commission in 1996, and has been headed by 26 Chief Executive Officers, but has come to completion after many years of inaction.
President BUHARI in his remark said the commissioning of the structure marks an important milestone in his administration’s efforts to reposition NDDC for the overall development of the Niger Delta.
The Minister of Niger Delta GODSWILL AKPABIO who physically commissioned the building on behalf of the President said the NDDC would undertake regional projects, by linking the states in the region with good roads.
