President MUHAMMADU BUHARI says that the Port Harcourt–Maiduguri railway rehabilitation being carried out by his administration would reactivate economic activities along the Eastern corridor.

The President disclosed this at the virtual ground-breaking ceremony of three projects, the rehabilitation and reconstruction of Port Harcourt– Maiduguri Eastern Narrow Gauge railway project, Bonny deep seaport and Railway Industrial Park, Port Harcourt.

President BUHARI said insecurity had affected economic activities but Nigeria’s aspiration for nationwide transport infrastructure and railways would be significantly enhanced by these three projects conceived to be integrated into their operations.
