Counsels to the Peoples Democratic Party and those of the Labour Party have resolved to continue advancing the interest of their clients in spite of the decision of the Presidential Election Petition Court dismissing the request for a live televising of the court proceedings.
The counsel made the resolve shortly after the tribunal unanimously ruled that the application by the PDP and Labour Party lack merit.
In a unanimous decision, the panel held that the order sought by the petitioner was outside the scope of the petition, adding that televising of proceedings is not provided for in any law.
According to the justices, the undue pressure of allowing cameras into the courtroom should be avoided as the impacts it will have on witnesses can not be predicted.
