The Oyo State Police Command says it has intensified routine patrols in the Odo-Osun, Ita bale, and Aderogba areas of Ibadan, the state capital.

The Oyo State Police Spokesman OLUGBENGA FADEYI, in a statement, said hoodlums from these areas had set out in the early hours of Friday to loot shops and set up bonfires.

FADEYI added that a house and about two shops were looted before the intervention of the police.

The incident led to a swift response of Police patrol teams who doused the tension and dislodged the hoodlums.
