Opposition Members of Parliament in Namibia have criticized the government for its recent settlement with its former colonial master, Germany.
The deal saw Germany acknowledge that it committed genocide against the Herero and Nama ethnic groups and pledge 1.1bn euros for their welfare.
However, a Lawmaker said there has been no chance to narrate the economic trauma caused by the genocide, while another said the Herero and Nama people would reject the accord with contempt.
Between 1904 and 1908 German colonial forces wiped out over 80% of the Nama and Herero people's population, with the atrocities described by historians as the forgotten genocide of the early 20th Century.
