The Ogun State Government has debunked rumors of convicting some arrested protesters of attempted murder and conspiracy.

This was made known in a statement signed by the State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, AKINGBOLAHAN ADENIRAN.

The statement said the Police investigation case file detailing the evidence against the individuals has been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Ogun State Ministry of Justice.

It added that the Ministry of Justice will independently review the case file and determine whether any charges should be filed against the individuals.

ADENIRAN said the Ministry of Justice is committed to ensuring due process is followed in all cases and that citizens’ constitutional rights are respected at all times throughout the criminal justice process.
