A group of researchers at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun State, have produced a covid-19 preventive, treatment and management herbal syrup.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor GANIYU OLATUNDE, stated this in the school campus in Ago-Iwoye and added that the syrup had been submitted to the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control for approval.
The Vice-Chancellor also unveiled three other products; automated dispenser hands sanitizers, personal hands sanitizers and face masks, which were also produced by the researchers.
The acting Director, Research, Linkages and Advancement, OOU, Doctor ASHIDI JOSEPH, who is also one of the researchers said the remedy was formulated based on results of post -mortem research conducted on those who died of covid-19 infection as the team had no access to samples of covid-19 patients for laboratory test with the syrup.
