The Ogun State government has said it will deal ruthlessly with rapists, as its Judiciary will leave no stone unturned in administering justice whenever rape cases were brought to any law court in the State.
The Chief Judge, Justice MOSUNMOLA DIPEOLU, who stated this at the commissioning of the Magistrate Court, Ido-Oke, Igbesa Land in Ado-Odo/Ota, Local Government Area of the State, warned people to desist from the repulsive acts.
Justice DIPEOLU said increase in rape cases across the country had become worrisome, which she noted, resulted in pressure groups calling on government to declare a state of emergency on the menace in the country.
The Chief Judge added that the appalling side of rape in our clime has to do with recklessness of the perpetrators, lackluster response of justice administrators and absence of institutional supportive system to help the victims.
