The Ogun State Government says there is need for Artisans to organize themselves into groups that would encourage exhibition of their handcrafts, in order to strengthen their business activities, and support the State in maximizing its potential for economic growth.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical Education, Prof. JOSEPH ODEMUYIWA made this remark during a courtesy visit by Ifo Technicians Association Incorporated.
Prof. ODEMUYIWA noted that craftworks, which may be functional or decorative such as; furniture, car spraying, ceramic, jewelry, leather, household items and tools, could be exhibited.
He added that the present administration was committed to improving craftsmanship through training to enable them use modern technology.
Responding, the Association’s President, SAMUEL OYEWOLE, appealed to the State Government to assist its members through formal education on technical and vocational training, promising that such effort would not be in vain.
