The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), says it has called for the canceling of the proposed plan of electricity tariff hike by July 1st, for the collective good and safety of Nigerians.
NLC President, JOE AJAERO, in a statement in Abuja, said the proposed hike would lead to an increased effect on other product or service providers in the country.
He also noted that the ordinary Nigerians needed to be protected from these economic troubles that is suddenly placed on them.
AJAERO said the issue of capacity to pay and quality of service delivery are not only germane but superior to any rationalisation by market logic.
The NLC contended that there have been increases without notice in violation of statutes.
