The Nigeria Governors’ Forum have met Niger State Governor ABUBAKAR BELLO, over the recent kidnappings and banditry attacks suffered in the state
Chairman of the Forum and Ekiti State Governor, KAYODE FAYEMI led the delegation along with Governors ABDULRAHMAN ABDULRAZAQ of Kwara, ABDULLAHI SULE of Nasarawa, SIMON LALONG of Plateau, and AMINU TAMBUWAL of Sokoto.
Governor FAYEMI called for synergy among security agencies to find lasting solutions to the problem, stressing that if it requires dialogue and negotiations, it can be explored.
On his part, Governor BELLO lamented the break down in law and order in the country, and criticized the centralization of security agencies at the federal level, which according to him needed to be addressed going forward.
