The Nigerian Medical Association says it has sent the ‘Control of Infectious Diseases Bill 2020’ to the medical legislation for proper scrutiny.
The bill is sponsored by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, FEMI GBAJABIAMILA and two other lawmakers, PASCAL OBI and TANKO SUNUNU.
President of the NMA, DR. FRANCIS FADUYILE wondered why such a bill would be brought up at a period when the nation is still grappling with the novel coronavirus.
FADUYILE argued that containing COVID-19 should be the country’s priority for now and not a bill.
