The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced a review of the case definition for COVID-19.

NCDC said the review became necessary because of the community transmission of the disease noticed in parts of the country.

The centre added some other symptoms to existing ones that could make a patient to be suspected of having contracted the virus.

These symptoms include cough, history of fever in the last two weeks, shaking or chills; body pain; headache; sore throat; recent loss of taste or smell; difficulty in breathing or shortness of breath; diarrhea or abdominal pain; runny nose or catarrh; and fatigue or tiredness.
