Malawi’s newly elected President LAZARUS CHAKWERA has promised to maintain unity in the southern African country after being sworn in as the new President.
CHAKWERA while addressing supporters in the capital said it was an honour for him to be elected president after taking his oath of office in the capital Lilongwe.
He also vowed to Malawians to restore faith in the possibility of having a government that serves and fights for the people.
Malawi is only the second sub-Saharan African country to have presidential poll results overturned in court, after Kenya in 2017.
