Fire has gutted the ever busy and popular Ogbe-Gonogo market in Asaba, Delta state, destroying goods worth millions of naira.

Over 10 shops at the old market were consumed in the inferno which lasted for over five hours before the arrival of fire service men from the state.

Traders lamented the delay in arrival of the Firemen, which they claim contributed to the level of damage recorded.

The Delta State commissioner of Information, CHARLES ANIAGWU appealed to the traders told be calm, while assuring them that the government will look into the situation
