The Media Centre of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in Abuja was engulfed by fire.

INEC National Commissioner FESTUS OKOYE confirmed the incident to newsmen but said no critical document was lost to the inferno.

Mostly affected is the Election and Party Monitoring Department, which was completely razed.
