World football governing body, FIFA has suspended Trinidad and Tobago for “grave violations” of its statutes following a local court challenge on its imposition of a new committee.
FIFA said the Caribbean island nation would not be allowed back in until it recognised the legitimacy of the “normalisation committee” installed by FIFA to run its affairs.
The football body said in a statement that the suspension was prompted by the former leadership of the T.T.F.A lodging a claim before a local court to contest the decision of the FIFA Council to appoint a normalisation committee.
